How to Make Delicious Spiced Sauteed Apples in Minutes
You guys, as fall starts to creep in, I am in the fall baking mood! I want all the things peaches, spiced apples, ooey gooey caramel, and all the pumpkin things! Today I want to share a super easy recipe that you can use for so many different treats or meals! My spiced sauteed apples are so delicious, super easy to make, and will make you feel like a champion chef! Trust me, you probably have everything in your home already. And if you are like me, these beat out canned apples any day!
It’s true, I am kind of a snob when it comes to using canned or bottled pie fillings. Admittedly I do not make pies often, but one thing I do love it the flavor of an apple pie filling. Rarely do I have time to make a homemade apple pie, but with just a few easy steps I can make the yummiest sautรฉed apples that are perfect on ice cream, on a cake, added to cupcakes, tarts and one of my favorite recipes using crescent rolls.
Jump to RecipeSo, lets talk about how to make these sauteed apples with cinnamon:
I start by peeling and slicing my granny smith apples. I like to use these types of apples because of their tartness. I love this, but you can use whatever apples you love the most.
Once they are peeled and sliced, you want to put butter, brown sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon in a sautรฉ pan with the apples over medium heat.
Stir the mixture around as the ingredients begin to mix together. The brown sugar, butter and cinnamon will start to bubble and caramelize. The apples will begin to soften. I slice my apples thin so that they cook quickly.
I also like my sautรฉed apples to have a bit of a bite to them, so I cook them about 6-7 minutes and then try them. If they are where I want them to be, I shut off the heat and let them sit for a minute. They will continue to cook.
If you want to use them for a tart or other baked recipe, do you not need to cook them that long, depending on how long they will be in the oven. When I use them for baked items, they are usually only in the oven for 10 minutes, so it is good to sautรฉ them a bit.
But, what do we love them on? Oh gosh, I could just sit and eat them right out of the pan and be happy. My kids are the same! We love these sauteed apples on ice cream with some homemade caramel sauce.
They would be amazing on a cheesecake, or any dessert with cream cheese! I would definitely try it on my easy cheesecake mousse!
This recipe for sauteed apples is one to keep in your stash of easy know how recipes.
Whatever you use them for…even if it’s a spoon, and a pan of sauteed apples, you are going to love them! And you will feel like a pro making these easy apples.
The brown sugar, butter and juice from the apples make the most glorious sauce to go with the apples. Try not to drink it or lap it all up, I dare you.
I promise this will be the best skill you will learn this fall! You will be making it so often because its so easy! Try it out!
Recipe for Sauteed Apples with Cinnamon:
Sauteed Apples
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice

Instructions
- Peel and slice your apples( I like to slice them thin so that they cook faster). I use granny smith because I love the tartness(but you can use whatever you love)
- Put butter, sliced apples, brown sugar, lemon and cinnamon in a sautee pan.
- Sautee on medium heat for 5-10 minutes until softened. This part is dependent on your preference. I like just a bit of bit to mine, so I test them out and when they are to my liking(about 7 minutes) I turn them off and let them sit for a couple minutes.
