This grilled chicken recipe is one of our absolute favorites. It’s so easy whip up and cook on any busy weeknight or for a fun barbecue on the weekend. It is flavorful and tender as well!
We love using our grill as much as we can, especially in the fall and summer. One of our favorite things to h=make for dinner is grilled chicken. I love grilled chicken in many different forms, from kabobs like our chicken sauvlaki to barbecue its one of my favorite kinds of meals.
Today I want to share our absolute favorite grilled chicken recipe. This is a recipe I have been making for years. It’s easy to make, takes no time to prepare and tastes amazing alone, in a wrap, with some dip, or on a salad.
This grilled chicken recipe has a marinade that you let the chicken soak in for a couple of hours and you wont believe how easy it is….
All you need for this grilled chicken recipe is:
- 1/2 bottled Italian dressing
- 1/3 cup Montreal Chicken Seasoning
- 4-6 large chicken breasts
So let’s talk about this grilled chicken recipe for a minute.
I know that many people grill chicken and its a pretty easy process. This one is no different. To begin, I often like to butterfly by chicken breasts if they are thick. I want things to grill up quickly and this helps a lot.
Once they have been butterflied, I add half a bottle of Italian dressing into a gallon size zip lock bag. To that I add 1/3 cup Montreal Chicken Seasoning to the Italian dressing. I then add the chicken to the mix and let them sit and marinate for at least 5-6 hours. I don’t go over 12 hours though.
Once your chicken is done marinating, it’s time to grill it up! I make sure my grill is nice and hot! I also like to brush some oil on the grates to make sure the chicken doesn’t stick.
Once it is grilling, it’s usually about 8 minutes on each side. I think this depends on the grill you are using and what heat you prefer. I will check mine often to make sure it doesn’t overcook.
When it’s done, I like to slice it against the grain of the chicken. This way it’s easy for the kids and friends to grab a few pieces and put them on their plate. I have found that if I leave the chicken whole, there ends up being a lot more waste.
It is easy to grab what you need and the leftovers can be put in a bag and used for salads, or even just a good snack.
We like to eat them cold form the fridge, just a few on a plate for a snack or part of lunch with some fruits and veggies and you are good to go!
I love serving this with a salad with my homemade ranch dressing or even my pomegranate salad! This is also great with rice, or a baked potato. It’s such a versatile food element to have in your dinner arsenal. This grilled chicken recipe is easy to make and will quickly become a favorite.
