Fall Entertaining in the Kitchen
I love to entertain in the fall. There is something about the cool weather, and the magical feel that comes with the changing of seasons that makes this my favorite time of year. I love the long shadows and the change in the atmosphere. We love having outdoor parties, or creating something special just for the kids. Fall entertaining has so many pluses to it, it is hard to stop myself from enjoying every little bit of it.
I am sharing some fall entertaining ideas for the kitchen with some of my very favorite bloggers, who are all sharing their fall decor for the kitchen. Make sure to scroll to the end of the post to see them.
One space I always add a bit of fall touch to is the kitchen. With my open shelves, its easy to change things up and add a bit of a festive flare, while keeping things consistent to my style. Instead of throwing up obvious fall decor, I love to add items that are reminiscent of fall colors, or just simple pumpkins to instill those fall vibes.
Textures and colors such as copper, rustic baskets, greens, golds, and ocher are some my favorite elements to add. This year, I was so excited because our garden went all out and produced a ton of pumpkins, and this year, we grew those adorable “cinderella pumpkins” and gosh they did so well!
Obviously, I has to add them in to my fall kitchen decor. When I think of fall in the kitchen I think of the harvest. It is a time of busy here. I spend many days processing and preserving food from the garden. We had an amazing spaghetti squash abundance this year, and its a great way to add more fall touches without being too obvious. The harvest signals fall.
When I am doing fall entertaining, one thing that stands out as a necessity is some fall food. Fo this little party we decided to have, I asked a dear friend, who, during covid has branched out and started her own cake company.
I love supporting others in small businesses, and I was thrilled at the amazing carrot cake she made for me. The simple edges with a hand painted gold base, the cake looks perfect in my kitchen and tastes even better. Providing some fall inspired foods can make your fall entertaining a cinch.
The caramel colors of the carrot cake, and the spicy flavors are perfect for fall entertaining.
As a bonus, I added some amazing asian pears off our first pear tree! These are the first pears we got off our tree and for some reason I love using fresh pears in my fall decor. I guess you could say I prefer to use fresh fruits and found objects and are either inexpensive or edible, so that my fall decor doesn’t go to waste. My kids ravaged these pears as soon as I said go.
With so many warm and inviting autumn colors this time of year, it inspires me every day.
The warmth of wood cutting boards, the rawness of home grown pumpkins, the shimmer of copper and texture more earth baskets. It is everything for me in the fall.
Like I said before, our pumpkins have been doing awesome in the garden and I had to pull more in to add to my handmade basket.
Life is simple here at Twelve On Main. Maybe I just want to pretend, because right now, as we speak we are preparing the exterior of our home for a big paint job, the garden is in full harvest mode, I am milking goats and taking care of chickens too. I truly enjoy every minute of it.
And when I come home, I can enjoy my little retreat. My space to unwind and feel the comfort of a cozy space.

I’m so jealous! Your pumpkins are amazing! My husband tried growing some and he failed miserably. Oh well, there is always next year. Your fall kitchen is so festive and beautiful!
Believe it or not, when it comes to one place in your house where you spend a lot of time and good memories in, apart from the bedroom, it is the kitchen. Every waking hour, it is at least two or three times you visit the kitchen for something or the other. It is, so, a given that you would want to decorate the same in your style. I am sure, like me, several homeowners would be lucky you gave them this opportunity to find out what they like when it comes to the kitchen decoration for the fall.
