Cozy Winter Decor My Way
Hey friends! With all the Christmas decor put away at my home, it gave me a chance to reorganize and add a couple touches for the winter. My focus for winter decor in my home is to make it cozy, with warm blankets and layers of texture. I find that I am so ready to get rid of my greenery and and other Christmas decor that I purge it all. Lets talk about my cozy winter decor.
I am sharing this along with 7 other amazing bloggers who are also sharing their winter decor. Make sure to check them out at the end of this post.
I chose to warm up my space for winter by adding texture with blankets, adding touches of warm colors as well. Lets start off in my entry. Things were kept very simple in here.
I kept things simple here. Using my boxwood wreath from Christmas and adding a gorgeous rust colored pillow to accent a white pillow, it gives the space a warmth feel and the boxwood adds a festive feel. This space is simple and clean and welcoming.
Now lets check out my living room. The first focus was my fireplace.
I added a collection of wood and copper baskets and bowls on the mantel. I love their warm colors and the gorgeous textures of all them.
With a roaring fire, the room is cozy. Its the perfect place to snuggle up and watch a movie or read a book. Our pups love this space as well.
I could not believe that I got this adorable picture because rarely are they both just chilling like this, but when they do, I love it. This is Kylo (the new pup) and Bruin, or favorite 8 year old. Both German Shepherds.
I am still using my white slipcover on the couch and I am surprised at how easy it has been to keep it clean, yes even with two dogs in the house.
The couch is draped with plenty of blankets and cozy pillows. This is my favorite spot these days. We added a new hammered metal coffee table that I found at TJ Maxx and I love it!
Next and last is my bedroom…which got some warmth in terms of colors and textures to give my winter decor the look and feel I was going for.
I have become obsessed with this rust color in my home and when I found this king sized crocheted blanket at Target I had to have it.
It adds such a great layer of warmth and the texture screams “come snuggle me”.
Another gorgeous rust pillow along with many patterned larger pillows really give this bed a warm inviting look to my winter decor.
I absolutely love this new bedding and feel like it gives me that warmth I am looking for this winter.
You can use any style to add winter decor to your home, whether it be simple greenery, a couple wreaths or simply adding a couple colors and textures to give you that cozy feel.
I think it feels pretty cozy in my house. My winter decor might not look like yours, but thats okay! This is winter decor done my way.

Oh my goodness, your winter decor is fabulous! Everything looks so cozy. We do the same and layer our slipcover sofa with lots of warm, soft blankets, and it is my favorite place in the whole house. Ok, I pinned your post as well!
Your home looks so cozy yet stylish too! I love the rust color and how that all ties in with the copper in the living room too:)
Happy Winter!
I love your new color of rust in your bedroom and your selection of baskets and copper on your mantle, it is beautiful.
I love your rust and copper accents. Such a simple touch but very eye catching and cozy!! I also enjoyed the pictures of your dogs!! Our dog TELLS me when it’s time to turn on the fireplace. She sits right in front of it and stares at me! She loves the fireplace and sunshine. But not enough of the sun at this time of the year! How do you deal with your dogs shedding on the white slip covers? Our dog has already started shedding for this season! oh. one more comment. Our dog is the only one who appreciates any pillows on the couch!!
Hi! We dont let our dogs on the couch often. We make sure to put a blanket down if one of them does. I find the hair still gets on the sides of the couch but I use a lint roller to get it off.
Hi Sarah
I wondered where you bought your wall reading lights on either side of your bed I am looking for some for my bedroom. I would really appreciate the info. Thanks…your home is so lovely and your dogs are adorable. Stephanie
