Fall Tablescape with Simple Farmhouse Touches

Are you ready for a farmhouse style fall tablescape?

Oh my goodness I am so, so very excited about this post today.   I am living a dream.  I have partnered up with some of the most incredibly talented bloggers to bring you our take on the Thanksgiving table.  Being a huge fan of the Fall, I have been spending a lot of time working on other fall tablescapes, but who says there is only one way to skin a cat…or…..set a fall table.  This is my new and improved farmhouse style fall tablescape

Anyone that has seen my style before, knows I am a big fan of neutrals, simple, and handmade.  This Thanksgiving table exudes all the things I love about those elements.

The first thing I wanted to do for this farmhouse style fall tablescape is to wrap my table with butcher paper.  I did this last year and loved it.  Last year I did it as a kid friendly option, and a fun place that they could doodle and such.  This year I had another idea.

I wrapped the table with two pieces of brown butcher paper.

I taped it to the underside of the table.

The reason I wrapped the whole thing is that I wanted to use the paper to create my table name cards in a fun way.

I placed the plated where I wanted them and then I wrote out each persons name, in a large script with a sharpie marker.  I liked them large.  I think they add a lot of interest to the table.

There a few handmade items on this table.  I really wanted to incorporate some buffalo check in my place settings.  I had some extra buffalo check fabric I got from Fabric.com for my One Room Challenge bathroom makeover, and decided to use a little for this project.

I  cut some strips of the buffalo check fabric and used them as a scarf/napkin type of piece and set it in between the dinner plate and salad plate.    I think the fabric is the perfect accent to the white dinnerware that I found on Amazon.

Did you know that Amazon has their own dinnerware?  The quality is great and the price is amazing.  If you are on the hunt for some white dinnerware, this is the perfect collection for you.

Another handmade piece on this table is my cotton boll napkin rings.  However, I didn’t use them for the napkins, I used them for the silverware.

I thought it would be fun to fan out the silverware and tie them all together with my cotton boll napkin rings.  These we super simple to make.  I made the cotton bolls exactly like I did in my cotton stem tutorial.

Once they were put together, I simply hot glued a few of the bolls together and then tied and glued a piece of twine to the bottom of the bolls.

I think they add a lot of texture to the table.

I wanted to keep the rest of the table simple.  I added some of my homemade Aspen tree candle sticks, along with my white Ikea pitchers full of tree branches.

I love this view.  You can see a bit of my vintage green chalkboard wall from my breezeway, and my butcher paper holder that I use all the time, especially during the holidays and seasons.  Its always fun to decorate with new saying.

Can you believe I found these sweet little glasses at a thrift store?  It was a huge find for me.

This room is often hard to photograph since it in north facing and the one window either lets too much light in or not enough.  I love it when the light illuminates the space.  It is a wonderful space where I love to make memories with my children.

I love the twinkle of the candles in the photos.  Why don’t we light candles at dinner more often?

You can’t have a farmhouse style fall tablescape without a few pine cones, and these ones we found while out on a family drive.

This year, as Thanksgiving nears, I have been thinking about all the things that I am so very thankful for.  First off, I am so thankful to my husband and children.  They are so incredible supportive of my crazy love for this blog.  My husband humors me and works hard on projects with me.  He is an important part to seeing my dreams become a reality.

I am so thankful for my health and the wonderful small little town that I live in.

I am so thankful to you all.  Without you, this blog would be nothing but the ramblings of a girl that has too many ideas and not enough time. Oh wait, that still is me:)
