My Farmhouse Spring Mantel | Blog Hop
Well, well, well, I think it is finally showing signs of spring here in my town. You know what that means? It’s time to get some spring related posts out with all that springy goodness. Today I am excited to join a handful of other awesome bloggers to show off our mantels. I hope you like my farmhouse spring mantel.
Today we took a bike ride. Bike ride? No big deal right? Not here! That is the signal that the weather is finally starting to cooperate! The sin was shining, I saw deer running across the dirt road, and the magpies are out in full force. I couldn’t help but look forward to more of these rides as our small world here begins to come alive.
There were farmers in the fields surrounding my home the last few days churning up the soil in preparation for planting. There are buds on my Quaking Aspen trees and tiny blades of grass fighting through the dead, ready to shine.
All of these little signals are screaming SPRING to me.
In my opinion there is no other season that is more fun to decorate for. After months of cold, and colorless days, I love to incorporate pops of green into my home. It gives such a great feeling of life starting over, spring, giving new hope for the rest of the year.
How I decorating my farmhouse spring mantel:
Since I am a big farmhouse decor fan, of course I was going to go with a farmhouse spring mantel. It just is what it is folks. Even though the look is mainly neutral, there are some wonderful pops of green that really brighten up the space.
I started my farmhouse spring mantel with a large old basket that I found at a thrift store for $6.00. Score, right? I added my simple farmhouse wreath to the center.
Once I had the wreath up, I wanted to center everything from that. I added my set of white farmhouse pitchers from IKEA. They are the perfect shape and my absolutely favorite decor piece in my house. I added some spring greenery to them that I purchased from Joann’s. With one of their coupons you can get a really great price.
None of my mantels would be complete without books and candlesticks. It’s as simple and tying them off with some twine and facing the book pages out. It keeps my farmhouse spring mantel cohesive.
I love these candlesticks. They were both thrift store finds, and I felt super lucky to find them.
My last additions were my moss bird, old wooden corbel, and a thrift store pewter cup with some DIY moss eggs.
And finally, the icing on the cake… I made a simple garland with paper doilies I found in the dollar aisle. I love the simple antique and feminine look it adds to my farmhouse spring mantel.
Decorating mantle is always the first sign for me that the seasons are changing, and I am soooo looking forward to some warmer weather and green grass!
And make sure you PIN IT!
!
Have a great day!
