Last Minute Thanksgiving Tablescape

I am a procrastinator. I really am trying to work on that.  Being a blogger has really helped me to work on this, and I have found myself being more planned and ready for things.  But, as we are in things, its hard to be on top of everything.  That is why I thought that a last minute Thanksgiving tablescape would be a great post for today’s Thanksgiving themed bloghop.

I love joining up with other amazing bloggers and showing what we have all come up with.  This month, we decided to focus on Thanksgiving and fall.  I have already created some really great fall tablescapes, including one with books, and an outdoor table.  

What I wanted to focus on today is how to pull together a last minute Thanksgiving tablescape.  So, I decided not to plan, and to throw it together as if I hadn’t even thought  about it.  I mean, I honestly think that most of us do not think about decorating a table when you are so worried about creating the tastiest meal ever!

But, creating a Thanksgiving tablescape is a wonderful way to set the tone and create a cozy space for your guests.  So, there was no shopping, or planning or scheming for this.  I went and shopped from my house, and found things all within 20 minutes and then threw it together.

Here are the items I found by shopping by house:

• butcher paper
• sharpie marker
• large magnolia wreath(from Knud Nielson)
• deep burgundy fall leaves
• pomergranate from my kitchen counter
• white dishes
• gravy boat
• Rae Dunn GOBBLE platter
• Bleached pine cones
• galvanized bucket
• seagrass chargers

I was able to gather these all up within a few minutes and throw this last minute Thanksgiving tablescape together.  Raise your hand if you have done this before.  I started with the butcher paper. 

I wrote a large “give thanks” on the paper, and centered it on the table. 

I set the large magnolia wreath in the center. This magnolia wreath was made for me by this amazing company Knud Nielsen Co. and you can find your own wreath here.  They also have many other styles to choose from at One Kings Lane.

I took the galvanized bucket and filled it with my deep burgundy leaves.   I then set  this in the middle of the magnolia wreath.

I then added my seagrass chargers to the table, topped them with my white dishes and then finished them off each with a real pomergranate.

I popped a few bleached pinecones to the table, added my gravyboat and “gobble” Rae Dunn Tray and that was it!

 

It was a really easy last minute Thanksgiving table.  Now you see that its not that hard to put just a little effort into creating a beautiful space.
