A Farmhouse Christmas Porch and Entry
Well, its finally the true Christmas season, and boy oh boy its already been a crazy few days! And I know they are only going to get more crazy. Over the next week I will be participating in quite a few home tours, and today is the start! Today I am joining some very talented bloggers for a room by room home tour created by my friend Kristi at Chatfield Court. And I am kicking it off! I am starting it off with my farmhouse Christmas porch and entry. If you are stopping by from Artsy Chicks Rule, I am so glad toy are here!

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have been seeing sneak peeks of what I have been doing on my front porch, and even got to create a winter woodland porch for Home Depot a few weeks ago. I changed things up and simplified the entire space. I am really drawn to the simple Christmas touches this year.
Welcome to my Farmhouse for Christmas
I have been really drawn to simple Christmas trees this year and really wanted them to be the focal point of my porch. I dotted them here and there.
Keeping things simple can actually be really hard at Christmastime. I find myself going simple, but then also wanting to go all out…like all out! But then when I do, I am not happy with it, and I end up scaling down again. I must be so fun to live with!
I found that adding my vintage washtub, along with an old crate with pillows and my DIY wooden sled is all I needed.
I added some Christmas trees , stacked wood for the fireplace, and a live Christmas wreath on the door. I made that wreath all myself. It was surprisingly easier to do than I thought it would be!
Heading inside, I have kept with the simple farmhouse Christmas decor.
I actually moved away from the traditional reds and greens and used a simple grainsack fabric pillow in blue from Farmhouse on Boone as my “color”.
Last week, I posted about how I made this easy peg coat and hat rack, and wouldn’t you know its the perfect place to “hang stockings with care: as well.
I made these simple stockings out of muslin. They are simple, imperfect and I love them.
I rounded out my stockings by adding a simple boxwood wreath, you can see how I made it HERE.
I centered everything in my entry around this gorgeous vintage church pew.
Whats your favorite feature? I am kind of obsessed with my super easy muslin stockings. They are the perfect farmhouse Christmas decor accent.
Are you excited to decorate for the holidays? Have you already started? We you done weeks ago? I’d love to hear! I feel like I have been decorating my home for weeks, but havn’t really finished anything! Well, I better get my behind in gear so that I will have more to show you throughout the next week! Great job, looks beautiful. What is the color of your front door?
