Burlap Santa Claus Bag
On the 12th day of Christmas my true love gave to me a burlap Santa Claus Bag. Hey everyone I am back with my last day of my 12 Days of Farmhouse Christmas series! I hope you have enjoyed my Farmhouse Christmas goodness. This truly has been a labor of love. The last bit of I would like to share today is my Burlap Santa Claus bag. This was such a cool item to create! My kids were even more excited than I was. You know, I have seen many different types that you can purchase and use for Christmas morning, and this would be perfect for that, but I wanted mine to be used more for decoration. I am not really sure how I feel about using a bag for each child, especially now that my kids are growing up. Just not my cup of tea, but if it is for you, absolutely go for it! I think it is an adorable idea.
Now, I wanted something simple. Something almost farmhouse primitive. I purchased my burlap bag at a local farm store for 7 dollars.

Here are the items I used for this project:
Burlap Sack
Black Craft Paint
Alphabet Stencil ( I used 3 different stencil alphabet styles. You can find so many styles to make it yours)
Stencils
I started with a plain burlap sack. I actually bought this one for the potatoes I harvested out of my garden, now they have a new home.
I wanted more of a fun advertisement for Santa Claus, so I stenciled S. Claus at the top.
I read somewhere that they called Santa the “dealer in good things”. I loved this simple statement and decided to add it to my bag.
The last thing I stenciled was “coming….December 25”
For all these I just eyeballed where it would go. A burlap bag has a lot of forgiveness. Plus, I’m really, really good:)
I honestly made this from start to finish in about 30 minutes. It was funny, I kind of sat there, wondering what else I should do ! i was trying to convince myself that I needed to do something more. I have decided I did not need to.
I have always loved the idea of a Santa Claus bag and now I finally have one! Maybe I will sneak a few presents in the bag and surprise my kids. Maybe I will just leave it where it is at, stuffed with pillows to give the appearance of a bag full of gifts! There is my little secret.
Doing this series has been so fun for me. However, I have one little problem. I have gotten myself so excited for Christmas doing these fun projects and now I have to wait for another month! Wha?? Well, who said I was done anyways. I have so much more coming the next few weeks. I truly hope that you will check back and see what I am up to!
Have a great day!
