Create an Efficient and Beautiful Laundry Room with LG Appliances

A review on my LG appliances.

 

 

 

As many of you know, I just completed my One Room Challenge.  I chose my laundry room as my subject and in 6 weeks we completely transformed the space into a stylish and functional space that I love.  One very important element in creating a functional and efficient space was to have efficient and functional appliances.

I was extremely over the moon excited when I learned I was going to work with LG to create the space I had always dreamed of.  Now, the appliances have been installed and after having a time to use them, I thought I would give them an honest review.

First of my LG appliances is this Ultra Large Capacity Washer with Turbo Wash.   This washer has 4.5 cubic feet of washing space.  It is equipped with a stainless steel drum.  There is something about the way this washer is designed with a taller tub with the perfect angle for reaching every last sock.  We

We had 4 baseball games this weekend.  The perfect test to put this washer through.  I was able to wash all my children’s baseball clothes with ease and less work.  As a mom of 4, I am guilty of stuffing that washer as full as possible to avoid so many loads.  This washer fits so much, I don’t have to overload it.

The first few times I used it, I had to come in and make sure it was running.  It is so quiet.  Our previous washer sounded like a jet airplane was landing in my laundry room.  Not to mention, the washing time lingered at over an hour for each load.  Our new washer has cut 30 minutes of the wash time of each load, which means more laundry sooner.

With 14 laundry cycles including one specifically for towels, sportswear, bedding, and a separate tub clean cycle it also has the capability of downloading custom wash cycles.  This washer also has “smart appliance connectivity”.  What is this?  Well, you can download the LG Smart Laundry App that can check the progress of cycles and control the appliance remotely.  It can also send you notifications if the appliance has problems.

You can “remote start” your washer as long as the washer is connected to the Wi-fi.   Called ‘Smart Thinq” it is equipped to do so many things remotely.  Imagine what my husband thinks of this washer.  He now has a new favorite in this house.

It also has Smart Grid capability for areas where utility companies have installed Smart Grid equipment.  This is so valuable for our home.  We live in an area where we have certain times of the day when the electricity prices are higher and times when they are lower.

This washer also comes equipped with an interesting dispenser option.  The tops of the washer and dryer slide back to reveal the soap, bleach, and fabric softener dispensers.  I really was not sure what it was really going to be like, but I LOVE it.

All in all I am so very happy with this washer.  The only thing I feel I need to get used to is having touch screen controls of the front of the machine. I find myself accidentally turning it on when I lean up against it.  No biggie though, I don’t mind it much at all.

My second appliance, the LG Ultra Large Capacity Turbo Steam Dryer is an excellent companion to the Turbo Wash washing machine.  It has the same sleek control panel, just like the washing machine.  It has 7.4 Cu ft. of drying capacity.

 

We all know we have a tendency to forget or leave a load in the dryer for a too long period of time.  I know, I did it the other day.  This dryer has a great steam system.  In less than 10 minutes you can refresh wrinkly shirts and pants.  I have used steam dryers in the past and was never really impressed, but this dryer really gets it.

This dryer also comes installed with “Smart Thinq” technology.  As long as it is connected to Wi-fi you can control it remotely.

This dryer really is fantastic.  It has 14 drying programs and 5 temperature settings.  From heavy duty to delicate, this dryer is where it’s at.

I do believe I have saved the best for last.  The LG Styler.  This.  Is.  Amazing.

Truly, I did not realize this was something I needed so badly!  With a husband that wears business attire 6 days a week, this was sent by angels.  Last weekend I hung my children’s church clothes in the Styler and set it to refresh.  It steamed the clothes and fully dried them as well.  In addition to the hanging area, there is a pants press in the door.  This is so ingenious.  Now I can go about other chores and business while it does all the hard work.

One item I am always unsure how to handle are those darn stuffed animals.  My daughter has this brown teddy bear that she carries everywhere.  It is quite fragile at this point and throwing it in the washing machine would only ruin it.  What about those decorative pillows you don’t feel comfortable washing in the washing machine?  You can set the sanitize button on the Styler and it will sanitize blankets, pillows, and those lovely stuffed animals.

The Styler only requires a plug.  You do not need a water hookup.  There is a separate clean and dirty water reservoir.

Our laundry room did not have quite enough room to allow the Styler to sit freely in the room.  What we designed was a closet that recessed into the next room, which is our pantry.  We coincidentally had a space the exact size for the styler that was not being used in the pantry.  It requires 2 inches clearance on all sides and apx 7 inches above it.  We made sure to have the accurate clearance that was required.  The result is that the Styler is recessed into the wall approximately 12 inches.  It has allowed us to keep the open feel we were going for in my laundry room.

I love the sleek design of the front of the Styler.  It has a touch control hidden display that is only displayed when touched.

This  LG appliance is capable of reducing wrinkles, odors, and allergens from clothing and textiles with its True Steam technology.  This is really an amazing product.  I feel so incredibly grateful to have it in my home.

 

 

I am truly impressed with these LG appliances.
