Last month I showed you how to create farmhouse books in under 10 minutes, and the month before that I showed you a simple DIY mason jar planter.
Now we all realize, the limitation of having only 10 minutes, can limit the amount of things you can do, but honestly I am amazed at all the DIY projects you can do in 10 minutes.
When I was decorating my mantel for spring, I wanted to create some type of whimsical, and delicate garland that could carry from spring to the rest of the year.
I recently was at Joann’s looking for some fabric, and while waiting in line, I came across this stack of paper doilies, white and beige, and they packages were 1 dollar each! So of course I bought a handful, because really, you just never know when you are going to need paper doilies!
I decided they would make a great garland for my mantel.
This DIY doily garland could really not be any more simple.
Other than the doilies, you need twine and a hot glue gun.
The first step is to fold your doilies in half.
Once they are folded, then you can start attaching them to the twine.
Just run a line of hot glue in the crease, and fold over the twine, attaching them together. At this point you can let the doilies stay open or you can glue the two halves together. I like them separate.
Just make as much as you need, and they look so wonderful with more than one strand of them. 10 minutes. Done. And done for waaay less than 10 dollars!
And that’s all there is to it!
Make sure you PIN IT for later!!
I hope you try out some of these fun 10 minute DIYs! DIY projects don’t have to be hard and overwhelming. This DIY doily garland is one of the easiest DIY projects ever, and its a lovely addition to your décor.
Have a great day!
SO pretty! And definitely perfect for your mantel 🙂 LOVE it!
