Easy Christmas Bedroom Decorating Ideas

Its time for me to switch gears here on Twelve On Main and start sharing a bit of Christmas. Now, before you get up in a roar, hear me out. As a blogger it is important for us to create content that is timely and will reach you when you need it most. By sharing this now, the goal is to reach people who will start searching for Christmas decor ideas from now until Christmas. Today, I want to share Christmas bedroom decorating ideas. I love decorating for Christmas and I especially love decorating my bedroom for the holiday season.

We all spend our time decorating our living room, dining room, or entryway, but often we forget about our bedroom. With just a couple tips and tricks you can create a cozy space that evokes the holidays without going over the top. It doesn’t have to be expensive or over the top, just a couple items will go a long way.

Decorating the whole house can be so overwhelming, so make sure you start small and take it one room at a time. When decorating a bedroom, there are a couple elements you can add that can help give you that cozy Christmas ambiance.

TWINKLE LIGHTS

Want a cozy Christmas bedroom? I love adding just a few of these elements into my bedroom. Christmas lights are a must, and I like to hang them on the bed frame or on the mantel in my bedroom. Christmas lights or fairy lights are the best way to create a Christmas bedroom. I prefer the copper wire fairy lights. They give off a lovely glow and are smaller and easier to use.

ADD EVERGREEN GARLAND

Evergreen garland is another way to add holiday cheer into your bedroom. With natural elements like evergreen you can create an obvious holiday feel. I love using evergreen garland and find it an inexpensive way to decorate any space.

A WREATH

Another simple way to decorate a Christmas bedroom or any room for that matter is with a Christmas wreath. Hanging one above your bed or int he window is a great way to warm up your space.

CHRISTMAS SHEETS

My favorite way to add some holiday decor to my bedroom is with holiday inspired bed sheets. With Christmas being the comfiest holiday, adding cozy things such as flannel sheets, faux fur pillows and even a throw blanket at the end of the bed all help bring that holiday spirit into the bedroom.

HOLIDAY THEMED THROW PILLOWS

Holiday throw pillows are also an easy way to bring the Christmas season into your bedroom decoration. Even if this is the only thing you do, it will be enough. There are oodles of holiday inspired pillows and you just have to find the perfect one for your bedroom!

I tend to choose less obvious Christmas pillows such as a red plaid, or a striped design. There are so many cute Christmas designs with sayings, images and more that are perfect too.

A CHRISTMAS TREE

The last might be the most obvious but is rarely something I see in bedrooms. Add a Christmas tree! We always add a Christmas tree in our bedroom. Sometimes it is a real tree and sometimes we use a fake one. It is often a smaller tree than any of our main trees. Often I don’t even add Christmas ornaments either. Simple twinkle lights are all I need. I love the warm glow you get just from this one simple thing.

Don’t have room for a large tree? How about adding a mini tree to your bedside table. There are a ton of inexpensive options available. Faux trees or real trees, it doesn’t really matter. It’s just nice having a touch of greenery in the bedroom.

If all else fails, keep it super simple. Add a throw blanket! Thats enough. I have even gone as simple as a jar filled with candy cane on my nightstand. Just something easy to add to that festive cheer.

What colors do you like to use for Christmas? Is it traditional red? What about white a gold? There are so many beautiful color combinations. With our white walls we can create a Christmas wonderland with any color scheme. I have used many different color schemes as you can see in the images above.

In my daughters bedroom we didn’t change anything out, simply added a Christmas tree and a wreath. The greenery will go with just about any color scheme. In my bedroom we have used the traditional reds, as well as whites, golds, and neutrals. It is so easy to decorate your bedroom for the holidays and you do not need to go over the top. I cannot stress it enough. Do not get overwhelmed. If you want a cozy Christmas bedroom, do it! Do as much or as little as you want. It is your bedroom after all.

This year, I think we will be focusing on adding a Christmas tree, some twinkle lights, and thats about it. Simple and cozy.
