Easy Roasted Broccoli with Parmesan (An Easy Side Dish)
Most busy nights, I try to pull some kind of dinner together and most nights, thinking up a side to dinners is overwhelming. But, I think it is important for my family to get at least one veggie with their meal, and surprise….my kids arent fans of steamed broccoli. They do, however, love roasted broccoli.
We make this easy roasted broccoli with parmesan almost once a week. It is a super easy side dish to throw in the oven and its flavor is unmatched.

Easy Roasted Broccoli with Parmesan
Make this easy roasted broccoli with parmesan with your next dinner! Its the perfect side dish for any weeknight dinner or to add to a bigger group get together!
Ingredients
- 3-4 heads fresh broccoli you can also use pre cut fresh broccoli florets. You can use frozen broccoli as well but I prefer fresh.
- 2-3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- sprinkle garlic salt You can also use garlic powder and kosher salt and pepper.
- red pepper flakes optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.
- Cut the large stem off your broccoli heads and break apart the florets. Slice them in half or in quarters if they are larger.
- Place the broccoli on a large baking sheet or sheet pan and spread them out. Drizzle olive oil on the broccoli and then toss with your hands until all the broccoli is coated somewhat. (You can aso do all of this in a bowl if you want and then transfer them to a pan.)
- Shake the parmesan cheese and garlic salt (and red pepper flakes if using them)to the broccoli and toss a bit more to make sure they all get coated with some of the parmesan and garlic salt. Add more cheese if you feel it is needed.
- Place the pan on the top rack in the oven and roast for 15 minutes. Check the broccoli and using a spatula, stir the veggies around the pan to evenly cook.
- Continue to cook until they become crispy on the edges. The broccoli should also begin to get tender. This is when it is time to take them out of the oven.Serve immediately with your meal! These roasted broccoli are so great and flavorful. You can store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container. They are best right out of the oven though!
