Farmhouse Winter Decor | Winter Home Tour
Farmhouse Winter Decor
When the holidays are finally over, I think most of us are in a rush to get the holiday decor cleaned up and out of sight. But then our home feels a little bare and naked of all that coziness that came with all that lovely holiday decor. So after Christmas is over, I like to focus on some farmhouse winter decor.
Once I have cut out all the obvious Christmas decor, there are a few items I like to keep out for a few months through the winter. Well, our winter lasts until May sometimes, but I try not to keep it that long:)
So today I’ve joined a handful of talented bloggers to show how we decorate for winter. I keep my home cozy with farmhouse winter decor. It keeps things simple and leads me into spring easily.
I decided to change things up in my entry by adding my antique church pew to the mix. I simplified the area and added my DIY vintage wooden sled for some winter fun.
My cow print got a new home in the hallway above my salvaged wood side table.
I always find the time after Christmas to be a great time to purge, clean and rearrange my furniture. Its a time to clean under the couches, and really get a good cleaning overall.
I create this space with an old drop leaf table I had previously had in my kitchen, but after my kitchen update, I decided it needed a new home. I kept some of my greenery from Christmas to give it a fresh look and a pop of color.
I simplified my mantel by using a large round basket I came across at a thrift store. A few simple pitchers round it out.
Our family rooms gets the most traffic in our home. We spend hours here together and I wanted to create a cozy space where we can relax next to the fire.
The most recent addition to this room is my DIY barn door.
Its always been in this room, but I decided to change things up and I hung it on its side on the wall. I love the way it looks behind my couch.
Check out this sharpie marker pillow with my tutorial…
I added a simple sofa table below it and accessorized it with some found pieces in my home like this DIY tobacco basket.
This scale is my absolute favorite.
Lets get cozy…
Couldn’t agree with it more.
