My Cozy Hygge and Scandinavian Inspired Christmas Table Decor
Its the holiday season! We are fully into it now, there is no turning back. And why not embrace it? I sure have around our house. I love the cozy feel I have created in my house this year. There is so much to be grateful for this year, and I am grateful for my change to share my creative side with you here! Today I want to share my Scandinavian inspired Christmas table decor! Really I want to show you my entire Scandinavian inspired tablescape too!
I am also joining up with a bunch of amazing bloggers who are sharing theirs too. If you are unfamiliar with a blog hop, let me explain. A bunch of bloggers get together and each create our own post, focusing on the same subject or idea. We create, take photos, and write a post on our websites. We then list the other bloggers information as well as their link and an image of their project. You can click those links to check out their project as well. For this post, I will be sharing their info at the end. So keep an eye out~
Now lets get on to some eye candy Christmas table decor~
You would think after years of decorating my table for Christmas I would run out of ideas…and honestly, I am always afraid I am going to…but it all come in time and it all just falls together too. This time, it was late at night, and I was hanging out with my oldest son at the dining table while he ate his nightly bowl of cereal…seriously every night. Anyways, I was trying to think of what direction I wanted to take my Christmas tablescape this year.
Last year, my table had a similar feel, being inspired by Scandinavian Christmas decor. There is just something about the Scandi style that really speaks to me, and I love taking their ideas and turning it into something that works for my home. So, I focus on textures, keeping most of the colors soft and neutral and whites. I also like to add a bit of contrast to the table as well.
For me, it was important to start with a gorgeous centerpiece. I am using my large candleholder I made a couple months ago.
It has been my most favorite table centerpiece item, making it easy to create simple Christmas table decor. The glow of this Christmas centerpiece with candles creates the most amazing ambiance! Plus my kids love having candlelight dinners!
Check out how I made this wood beam candle holder here:

The second item that really made my Christmas table decor pop this year are my tiny Christmas tree scenes in vintage mason jars! These things are so adorable!
I decided to make one for each place setting. After dinner they can take them home with them, or if its my kids, they can put them in their room as a fun little piece of Christmas decor.
These vintage green mason jars are so adorable! And guess what? We ended up getting them by accident when I ordered my grocery order online at Walmart…they substituted the plain mason jars for these! I was pretty thrilled with that change out!
Setting my table is always done simply, with my seagrass chargers, white dinnerware and a napkin of some kind. This time, I realized I had this gorgeous velvet fabric in my closet, just a small scrap, but just enough to make 6 placemats. They color is amazing and the texture adds so much warmth to the table.
They also help to anchor the table settings. I love the combination of velvet, seagrass, vintage glass, wood, and candles. My Christmas centerpiece with candles is lit, It’s everything I love about Christmas.
I added simple greenery from extra cuttings from one of our Christmas trees. I love being able to reuse and repurpose the cuttings and have them around my home.
There is so much warmth to this Christmas table decor, I am kind of digging the idea of keeping it up all month, and not allowing anyone to sit and eat at the table! Haha, the life of living with a blogger I guess.
I hope you enjoyed checking out my Christmas table decor. I am excited to get to enjoy this view for a little bit longer. For now I am going to enjoy my Christmas centerpiece with candles
