I am so excited to be taking part in a super fun farmhouse style Christmas blog hop and today, my final home tour of 2018 is going to focus on my Christmas bedroom decor.
So far this winter, I have shared my Christmas mantel, Scandinavian inspired Christmas tablescape and dining room, my Scandi Porch and Entry, and my Scandinavian farmhouse Christmas living room and kitchen. Now its time for my bedroom!
Over the years I have decorated my bedroom, and I have always been a proponent of making sure it is easy to do, effortless and still very stylish. And, if you are a lover of farmhouse bedrooms or farmhouse Christmas decor, then this is the post you should be checking out.
Farmhouse Christmas bedroom decor:
First off lets talk about my bed. There are some very simple elements to a farmhouse Christmas bed. Lets talk about them:
- Simple white or natural linen bedding
- antique mirrors
- cedar garland
- lots of white pillows with texture
throw blankets
To created a farmhouse Christmas bedroom, make sure to keep the bedding light and airy. Even though the temperatures are colder, doesn’t mean you have to have heavy looking bedding. We always put flannel sheets on the bed in the winter, since they are warmer.
We have a down comforter tucked into our IKEA linen duvet cover….and believe it or not, I topped it with a large piece of painters drop cloth, to give the whole bed a more earthy look. I tell you, this painters dropcloth is so similar to linen in color, and I love using it as a coverlet. It has texture, is slightly imperfect, and inexpensive!
The other day I came across this amazing antique mirror and knew it was going to have a home above my bed. It is so perfect, don’t you think?
I used some faux greenery that I found at TJ Maxx. I have been looking everywhere for some faux Cedar greenery and I finally found it.
As you can see I kept am keeping the Christmas decor super simple. The garland is the only thing I used to really shout out that its Christmas, but I think that is all you need, especially if you are looking for a simple Scandinavian farmhouse style Christmas bedroom decor. Less is definitely more!
Now, I feel pretty special that I have a sitting area in my master bedroom. I mean…I really never want to leave this place. Plus I just gave my fireplace a brick update which I will be going over at a later date on the blog. Until then, just enjoy the space like I do! Come on over, we will hang out by the fire and have a hot cocoa.
I draped the farmhouse style mantel with some fresh cedar garland I got at The Home Depot. I love this stuff!
The tree is one we cut down ourselves on our annual Christmas tree hunting trip.
I wanted to keep the Christmas decor here simple as well. I roughly wrapped some gifts to sit below the golden mirror above. And you will never believe what that mirror is hiding….our TV! Yes we are some of those people that have a TV in the room. We love watching movies and snuggling by the fire. So sue us.
But I hate the look of a TV on the wall and so I cleverly disguised it with a big fancy mirror.
The Christmas presents, the garland, and the Christmas tree with twinkle lights. Yes please, that is all I need.
Its cozy, its serene and its all about Christmas right now. Excuse me while I go snuggle by the fire and watch a Christmas movie on my hidden TV!
So to sum it up….white bedding, soft wood tones, gilded mirrors, fresh cedar garland…and some twinkle lights and you have the makings of some pretty great Christmas bedroom decor. You can’t argue with that!
