Super Easy Light and Fluffy Blender Whole Wheat Pancakes
Okay so you are probably thinking, my gosh how many pancake recipes can this lady use? Well, this is by far the one I have used the most in our home. These fluffy blender whole wheat pancakes are so so very good! Not only that, but they are so so very easy to make!
Do you use whole wheat?
If you have experience making anything whole wheat you know it can be a process sometimes. You have to develop the gluten to get the structure and rise from the wheat flour. That is where the blender comes in handy.
You need a little bit of time to get that wheat flour mixed up long enough to give them some structure and lift. But, that isn’t as scary as it sounds.
You will simply add your milk and whole wheat flour to a blender and let it blend for up to 5 minutes. This gives the wheat flour time to develop a bit of gluten.
Once the wheat flour has been blended long enough you will add the rest of the ingredients to the blender, pulse to mix through and its ready to be poured onto a hot griddle!
These are one of my kids favorites! We often eat them with fresh strawberries and a tiny bot of syrup. We also put fresh strawberry freezer jam.
You cannot go wrong with butter and syrup though!
I will give you one bit of advice about making whole wheat pancakes.
Since they are a bit more dense they take a bit longer to cook, so make sure to let them cook a bit longer before you flip them. They will start to puff up, do not use your spatula to flatten them out. I see my husband do this all the time! Let them fluff up and cook all the way through. They will settle down after they have cooked through.
As you can see though, they are light and fluffy! They are not flat and dense. Gosh they are so good. The flavor is nutty and slightly sweet from the honey.
They crisp up nicely on the outsides and have a beautiful golden color. It can be easy to burn them, so make sure to turn the griddle down a bit if they are cooking too fast on the outside.

Whole Wheat Blender Pancakes
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup wheat flour (ground)
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Put milk and wheat flour in the blender and blend for up to 5 minutes. Keep an eye on it and make sure it doesnt get too hot.
- Once that is done, add eggs, honey, oil, salt, and baking powder and mix until combined.
- If it feels a bit runny you can add a small amount of flour to thicken it up. I find that if I blend it long enough in the beginning, it is nice and thick.
- Pour onto a hot greased griddle
- Wait until there are bubbles forming in the pancake before you flip. The goal is to only flip it one time.
- Once you flip it, the pancake will raise up. Let it cook through completely. These take slightly longer to bake than regular pancakes.
- Serve with your favorite topping. We love fresh strawberries and some syrup!
If you are like me and have that wheat flour but kind of feel like you don’t know what else to do with it besides wheat bread, these whole wheat pancakes are such a great breakfast!
