Super Easy Spicy Szechuan Beef Noodles In Under 30 Minutes
I feel like I make this dinner about once a week and I cant believe I havent shared it! These spicy Szechuan beef noodles are so good and so super easy to make! They take less than 30 minutes and are the perfect quick weeknight dinner.

These are particularly great to eat on a stormy chilly day as they are one of my comfort foods. They are absolutely so yummy.
Now let me tell you a little secret that makes these even better! I make one batch of my sourdough pasta noodles and use those for this meal. Im not kidding when I tell you that they elevate this dish so much. If you dont do sourdough or dont have time to make some, store bought works just as well!
With just a few ingredients you can make this amazing, hearty dinner too. We are obsessed with Din Tai Fungs spicy noodles and these help me curb those cravings, so obviously I make them all the time.
TOOLS YOU’LL NEED
Spicy Szechuan Beef Noodles
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 5 cloves garlic also 1-2 tablespoons minced
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce If you cannot find this you can use an asian barbecue sauce or regular bbq sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 10 oz linguine pasta You can also make one batch of sourdough pasta click here for recipe
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 bunch green onions sliced
- pinch crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Bring a stock pot of salted water to a boil while you prepare the sauce.
- In a large skillet cook the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks.
- When it is browned, add the garlic, red pepper flakes, ginger, brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce and black pepper into the ground beef and stir everything together. The spiciness of the sauce will depend on how many red pepper flakes you put in it. Start small and add more if you want it spicier.
- Now, mix your cornstarch with a couple tablespoons of cold water and mix until combined. Add it to your pan and stir into the sauce. It should start to thicken up.
- Drain the pasta sauce and add it to the skillet, stir until all is combined.
- Garnish with green onions and enjoy!
You could easily add veggies to this Szechuan beef noodles dish if you want more veggies! I usually serve mine on the side as my kids can sometimes want different things. A nice fresh salad is also a great side dish for these Szechuan noodles.
The flavor of these noodles is so savory, sweet and spicy. It is truly comfort in a bowl. If you are not a fan of spice, you can omit the red pepper flakes and enjoy it without the spice. They are just as good!
Not a fan of ground beef or want to make something leaner? Use ground turkey or you can even make it with tofu.
I like this Szechuan beef noodles recipe because ground beef us readily available. I always have it in my freezer and it is generally more affordable than steak. You can use flank steak or any other steak you may have on hand if you prefer.
