Easy DIY Rustic Wood Shelves

Making easy reclaimed rustic wood shelves is easier than you think!  Read on to see how I added farmhouse rustic charm to my bathroom for mere pennies!

What you need

– Pine Boards – Posts – Miter Saw – Drill and Impact Driver – Drill Bits – Screws – Stud Finder – Level

We cut an old post into corbels. I then sanded them and used a hammer to beat them up a bit. I then stained the wood with my favorite wood stain and drilled holes.

Cut Corbels

I used some 1 by 6 inch pine boards.  They are incredibly reasonably priced, especially if you get the white common board.

Pine Boards

Find the studs in the wall. If not, use drywall anchors. Use a level to make sure the corbels are straight. Secure them into the wall, then add the shelf, making sure it's centered.

Assembling

I love the rustic look these reclaimed shelves have. We loved how they were turning out! There’s no crime in styling toilet shelves.  It makes everything better.
