We had halfway done this project a while ago by adding shelves above a desk. Once we removed that desk, we decided to make additions to our original project to add coziness.

I wanted longer bookshelves for things that wouldn't fit up top, so we built those, made the frame for the fireplace and added shiplap all around it.

Painting this was incredibly easy with my paint sprayer. We decided to keep the shelves white, but chose a darker color for the fireplace.

Because we had measured the space for our electric fireplace correctly, placing it in was as easy as just letting it slide into place!
