Herb Butter with Maple Syrup, Red Pepper Flakes and Sea Salt

This compound butter is a great all around butter that is perfect for breads, rolls, and even great on veggies. It has well balanced flavors, and I think it is the perfect herb butter.

Mixing Time 5 minutes
Servings 1.5 cup butter

  • 1 cup softened unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4-1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage, parsley) finely chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon fresh garlic

Instructions

  • In a medium sized bowl add all your ingredients. Use a fork or spoon to combined the butter with the ingredients. You can mix these in a mixer but I find it is just as easy to mix it by hand, especially if the butter is room temperature.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge. Before using it, let it sit out and come soften.
